L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon

Last Thanksgiving weekend, hubby and I had dinner at l’Atelier de Joël Robuchon. We wanted to book the restaurant, which has three Michelin stars, but it was fully booked. L’Atelier, which has two Michelin stars, was not such a bad alternative with a more relaxed ambience and no less than sumptuous offerings in the menu…

Champagne Brunch Buffet at La Brasserie

For my birthday, hubby treated me to a surprise date for Champagne Lunch Buffet at La Brasserie of The Fullerton Bay Hotel.

Seafood and Champagne at La Brasserie, The Fullerton Bay Hotel

And for this occasion, I’m making a short review of the brasserie

First of all, the place wows you in all directions upon entering. Immediately, you find yourself surrounded by sumptuous dessert on the buffet setting. The clear glass walls with the view of Marina Bay and the high ceiling make the room so bright and airy. It’s definitely my kind of room — beautiful view and very high ceiling. I was already sold!

Romantic Lunch Date at Rhubarb Le Restaurant

Rhubarb Vanilla Ice Cream at Rhubarb, Le Restaurant
There is nothing more pleasantly distracting than a surprise romantic lunch at a Michelin-starred French restaurant on a busy Monday. Hubby chose a cozy restaurant called, Rhubarb, Le Restaurant. We figured the owner must’ve been really obsessed with this plant, which a decade ago would’ve been something very unfamiliar to me. I now know for one that Rhubarb Pie is one of my husband’s favorites. And I quite like it too, for its tangy and citrusy flavor. We tried the restaurant’s Rhubarb Vanilla Ice Cream at the end of a three-course lunch menu, and found it deliciously refreshing, especially with the popping sugar bits.

Weekend Staycation at Raffles Hotel Singapore

The holidays came and went just like that… just like 2016.  And since the start of the year, I have been ever so busy with work, etc. But now, I finally found a weekend to write about the previous weekend when we had an opportunity to stay at Raffles Hotel. I had been waiting for a long time for this. It’s such a magnificent and historical site that I wouldn’t want to miss checking out, especially since I have been living in Singapore for a really long time now.

Art at Curate, Resorts World Sentosa

Hubby and I decided to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary a bit earlier than usual this year. He told me about this restaurant at Resorts World Sentosa called, Curate. I immediately checked it out and found it interesting.

food for thought 🙂

They regularly invite Michelin-starred chefs from all over the world for a sampling of their artistic cuisine. This particular weekend, we went for a lunch menu prepared by two-Michelin starred chef, Guy Martin of France. He is quite famous as he has a TV show called, Epicerie fine on TV5Monde (the French cable TV network) that we regularly watch on weekends.

Strawberry and Pink Theme Birthday

This year, for my daughter’s birthday, I decided to exert a little extra effort for her party. We never really hosted a real children’s birthday party before because hubby and I are both lazy when it comes to organizing events. But I was thinking that our daughter is now at an age when she will really appreciate having a birthday party with her friends.

I have shared some useful links at the bottom of this post to make my site more useful to parents planning to hold a birthday party for their kids.

Le nouvel an chinois

Cette année, on a décidé de rester à Singapour pendant le nouvel an chinois parce qu’on était trop paresseux de decider de quoi à faire et où peut-on aller pour les vacances.

This is how you make Spritz… first, some bubbly drink (prosecco or champagne, or this time, we had some cava from Spain)

Introduction to Painting Class

ever since i can remember, i have always been on the lookout for painting classes. as you know, i have quite a bit of experience with drawing, as i love doing portraits in charcoal or pencil. but with painting, i always get a bit apprehensive. not only because i find it quite difficult to render color on paper, but also because i’m scared to go in a class where all the other people have already had the skill and experience beforehand. yeah, i hate being judged. especially for my art work. so, do be gentle with me in the comments, now. 🙂

but then, last week, i felt quite lucky to stumble upon this painting school that organizes classes for people who have never ever painted in their lives. and they even offer a discount for this introductory class. what’s more, it’s a mere fifteen-minute walk from where i live, which is just perfect!
