And for this occasion, I’m making a short review of the brasserie… First of all, the place wows you in all directions upon entering. Immediately, you find yourself surrounded by sumptuous dessert on the buffet setting. The clear glass walls with the view of Marina Bay and the high ceiling make the room so bright and airy. It’s definitely my kind of room — beautiful view and very high ceiling. I was already sold!
I really want to blog about this while everything is still fresh in my memory. So, here I am at midnight, on the last few days of my summer holiday here in France, jet-lagged and all, but I find enough energy to write about this experience. I have just been to see the musical for the first time ever last Monday, 10th July. I have always been a big fan of Miss Saigon for obvious reasons — because Lea Salonga was in it, and also being in my pre-teen years the first time it came out, I had a predisposition to crave sappy, romantic love songs.
Last Mother’s Day — hubby treated me to a lovely lunch at a nice restaurant.
While I am thankful that a lot of the hassles of taking care of a small baby have gone away with the passing of time, I could never really be whole-heartedly grateful to dear old time, as I realize that the more my daughter grows the less she will be needing me. I know this is too early to start worrying about when she will become a teenager and will be wanting to leave her parents’ care… but this is the stuff that mothers do. And I can’t help it. I’m deep into it now. Especially since I have been a mother for already half a decade now!
Although I promised myself I would never again organize a big birthday for my daughter, I just couldn’t help but do it again this year. This time around, I tried to keep the size of the party a little bit smaller than last year. I also tried to do less stuff so I wouldn’t stress myself too much. But what I always fuss about the most is the birthday cake. I just think that it’s very central to the celebration. It’s what the celebrant and the kids attending the birthday party really look forward to. I wanted to make a special cake for my daughter for her birthday but I just became really busy this year to do it all from scratch. It was a very lucky coincidence that I stumbled upon this cake decorating workshop where I can take home the cake, and that the workshop fell on the day right before my daughter’s birthday party.
The holidays came and went just like that… just like 2016. And since the start of the year, I have been ever so busy with work, etc. But now, I finally found a weekend to write about the previous weekend when we had an opportunity to stay at Raffles Hotel. I had been waiting for a long time for this. It’s such a magnificent and historical site that I wouldn’t want to miss checking out, especially since I have been living in Singapore for a really long time now.

Hubby and I decided to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary a bit earlier than usual this year. He told me about this restaurant at Resorts World Sentosa called, Curate. I immediately checked it out and found it interesting.

They regularly invite Michelin-starred chefs from all over the world for a sampling of their artistic cuisine. This particular weekend, we went for a lunch menu prepared by two-Michelin starred chef, Guy Martin of France. He is quite famous as he has a TV show called, Epicerie fine on TV5Monde (the French cable TV network) that we regularly watch on weekends.
In our household, we have two Mother’s Day celebrations — the second Sunday of May, as most of the world know it, and the last Sunday of May, otherwise known as Fête des mères in France. But why limit myself to just two days when I can choose to celebrate Mother’s Day the whole month? And in celebration of Mother’s Month, I am writing this blog to impart some useful tips and talk about my experience on being a mom of four years… whether you like it or not. I rarely ever write about being a mom, so please bear with me.

This year, for my daughter’s birthday, I decided to exert a little extra effort for her party. We never really hosted a real children’s birthday party before because hubby and I are both lazy when it comes to organizing events. But I was thinking that our daughter is now at an age when she will really appreciate having a birthday party with her friends.

I have been feeling all lazy this weekend. I didn’t feel like going out, so everybody went out this morning, except for me. But what a surprise it is when hubby and daughter came back bringing colorful flowers and lovely cake for dessert… both of which just about summarizes how my love life has never been more colorful and more delicious than ever before.
