what’s so funny about it is the silliness of the dialogue and behavior of the characters, bordering on cartoon-ish. it reminds me so much of the times i was watching silly Bugs Bunny cartoons when i was a kid.
we felt a bit scammed when we realized this row of seating is the most uncomfortable and awkward in the theater, despite being so near the stage, and not to mention, expensive!
last night, i had the luckiest time of my life to be able to see John Cleese perform live here in Singapore. he talked briefly about his early life, family and a lot of funny anecdotes in the span of his works and career.
some random fan
he mentioned that his early inspiration for writing comedy are children’s programs. in fact, some of the members of the Monty Python were writing for a children’s TV show before they started collaborating together. i guess that is why their type of humor appeals to the silly and those with an overindulgent sense of the ridiculous.
since my days in France or in Europe are soon going to end within a few months, i’ve decided to make a list of the places that i would like to visit here in France, and in Europe, if still possible.
i have included in my list some of the nearby places like Lourdes and Albi. the latter, we have already visited a couple of weeks ago to see the Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec museum and the cathedral just beside.

the museum was worth visiting because it contains a vast collection of his famous works, which were mostly donated by the Countess Adèle de Toulouse-Lautrec, the artist’s mother. and the garden outside, with the view of the Tarn river is just beautiful even with the bleak wintry landscape. i should try to go back in the spring, and with a real camera.

i hate to admit it but the first time i’ve seen a Brillante Mendoza movie, called Serbis, i just didn’t like it. perhaps it’s because lately i’ve come to prefer watching stupid comedy movies. i had enough of the serious ones that usually lure you into believing there is something more to it than what it is. only to find out in the end that it’s just another piece of pretentious bullshit.
